10 Latest New Health Tips

1):Top Seven Cancer Prevention Steps (that don’t involve drugs or doctors)

Sunshine
Focus on the light
My Top Seven Cancer Prevention Steps that don’t involve drugs or doctors.
•    Keep whole foods and fresh foods as a large part of your diet. Fruits and vegetables should make up a large part of that.
•    Use relaxation and anti-stress strategies on a regular basis
•    Keep your body fat percentage under 20 for men and under 30 for women.
•    Get enough sleep to ensure REM stages occur.
•    Reduce your exposure to pesticides, household chemical cleaners, synthetic air fresheners and air pollution.
•    Use high quality supplements to ensure you are getting adequate vitamin/mineral content in your diet. Most drug store variety multi-vitamins aren’t bio-available. Remember the contents of the supplements only count if they enter your bloodstream, not if they end up in your output.
•    Take Essential Fatty Acid supplements – you need both fish oils and flax oils to have a good healthy balance.
These are what I would call the “common sense” approach to treating your body like a temple. In short, eat well, laugh often, sleep and dream and stay away from modern chemistry as much as possible. Focus on the positive things and visualize whirled peas, you know?

2):4 Tips on Daily Fitness

Why 4 tips on daily fitness? Why not ten? I know if you are anything like me, and/or most of the people who are into fitness and health you aren’t going to remember ten tips, but maybe 4 tips may stay with you. So here they are (in no particular order)
1. Have Realistic Goals .

3):Stay cool with Tim Te bow

I don’t know if you’ve caught the new commercial for Jockey’s Staycool tee shirts that featured former Gator Quarterback Tim Tebow. In the commercial Tim is “staying cool” in his jockey t-shirt. Everyone around him is sweating their butts off and he is cool and happy with occasional special effects icy blue swirls curling around [...]

4):The Duran Diet

The latest diet craze to hit the streets is the Dukan Diet. One reason it’s getting so much attention is because the newest soon-to-be member of the extended family of British Royalty Carole Middleton, mother of Kate Middleton, Prince William, is rumored to be following it to prepare for the wedding. Geesh, that was some [...]

5):Walking On Sunshine

It’s getting to be that time of year where you are getting out of your house more often, because of the weather getting nicer, and hopefully some of that time out is for exercise.
One of the oldest forms of exercise is walking, which obviously has been around since before it was even considered exercise or [...]

6):Simple Exercises Can Give Best Results

What simple exercises can you do to help you to lose weight? I guess the question doesn’t get any easier than that, and the possible answers are so varied it blows you away. Okay, maybe it only blows me away, I can’t speak for the general population really, can I?
The simplest things have been [...]

7):Spring Fitness and Wellness

Spring is just around the corner and it is certainly time to dust off those walking shoes and get outside and smell the roses. Well, OK, you can’t smell the roses literally, but your spring fitness and wellness routine should start now if it hasn’t started already.
One comment I often hear is that people want [...]

8):Steak and Grilled Onions

Last night we went out to dinner, just Deb and I. It was a local restaurant, Klinger’s, and was really spur of the moment. I had rehearsal with my one comedy troupe, Dutch Blitzkrieg, and she had rehearsal for a new musical, Symphony of Dreams. It was a busy day and neither of us felt [...]

9):Atkins Diet Revisited

Over ten years ago I was on the Atkins Diet and I lost about thirty pounds. That was over a four month period. During that time I had plenty of energy, my cholesterol levels were fine, blood pressure great and overall I felt fine. The only “problems” I encountered were 1) I missed carbs, and [...]

10):Beginning an exercise program

Well spring is finally here and you are beginning an exercise program… okay, spring isn’t quite here yet, but I can dream can’t I? And it is warm enough here in the northeastern United States that I could finally get outside and take my first run of the new season. But what cautions should one [...]
